Bobby Witt Jr.’s Baseball Card Wedding Invitations

Kansas City Royals’ standout shortstop, Bobby Witt Jr., is not just making waves on the baseball diamond, but also in the realm of wedding preparations. The professional athlete and avid collector recently showcased his ingenuity by using custom baseball cards to invite his teammates to stand by his side as groomsmen on his special day. Among the fortunate recipients of these unique invitations was fellow Royal, MJ Melendez, who eagerly shared the card on social media for all to admire.

The buzz around Witt’s unconventional wedding invitations grew even louder when a video posted by the card shop Pullwax on October 29 captured Melendez unveiling the bespoke card. Housed in a protective PSA 10 slab, the “Topps Bobby Witt Jr. Groomsman Card” depicted a snapshot of the two players exchanging cheers during a game in 2022. With the certification number on the slab confirming the existence of only two such cards, the invitation card became a coveted and ultra-rare piece of memorabilia in the baseball world.

Adding a personal touch to the invitation, Witt included a heartfelt message on the back of the card, expressing his desire for his teammates’ presence on his wedding day:

“I couldn’t think of a better way to send groomsman invitations than by using custom baseball cards. It would be an honor for you to be by my side on my wedding day. It wouldn’t feel right without you there. Consider this the official invite!

– B Witter”

This thoughtful and personalized gesture not only showcased Witt’s affection for baseball but also brought a refreshing twist to the conventional wedding invitation process, perfectly blending his love for the game and his personal life.

Amidst the excitement of his upcoming nuptials, Bobby Witt Jr. recently added another feather to his cap by clinching his first-ever Silver Slugger Award, marking a significant milestone in his burgeoning career. This accolade caps off a remarkable year for the young Royals’ star, highlighting his prowess both on and off the field.

Through the innovative and memorable use of custom baseball cards in his wedding invitations, Bobby Witt Jr. has once again demonstrated that his passion for the game transcends boundaries, seamlessly weaving its influence into every aspect of his life.
