SCP’s Spring Premier Auction Showcases Sports Memorabilia Extravaganza

SCP Auctions, with a penchant for producing thrilling events for sports memorabilia enthusiasts, is all set to ignite the passions of collectors with their Spring Premier catalog boasting an exceptional array of rare items. One outstanding gem in the auction is the one-of-a-kind George Mikan Minneapolis Lakers warm-up suit, a historical piece autographed by the basketball luminary himself. This artifact from the NBA’s early days, comprising a jacket and pants with Mikan’s signature, comes accompanied by an LOA from Sports Investors Authentication, with an estimated valuation soaring above $400,000.

As a transformative figure in basketball history, George Mikan’s memorabilia, especially items used in games, are treasured by aficionados. The auction also showcases prime vintage baseball cards, including a remarkable PSA 7 Mickey Mantle 1951 Bowman rookie card, two 1952 Topps Mantles, a 1963 Topps Mantle graded SGC 9, and a rare 1933 Goudey #92 Lou Gehrig graded SGC 9, with the Gehrig card anticipated to command upwards of $150,000.

For fans of Pete Rose memorabilia, the auction offers the second-ranked master set of his cards, following SCP’s recent sale of the top-ranked set last autumn. An assortment of significant Shohei Ohtani cards and memorabilia is also up for grabs, such as the jersey worn by Ohtani on Jackie Robinson Day in 2023, projected to attract bids reaching six figures, and Ohtani’s milestone 200th career home run ball.

Among the other standout lots in SCP’s Spring Premier Auction are two pairs of game-worn shoes autographed by the iconic Michael Jordan, a cap worn by Roberto Clemente, a jersey worn and confirmed to pictures of Ronald Acuna Jr., and a jersey signed by Tua Tagovailoa from 2023. The catalog also boasts exquisite high-end jewelry, including the 1957 Mickey Mantle AL MVP award, Olympic gold medals presented to Jim Hines and Oleksandr Abramenko, a 2003 Florida Marlins World Series ring, and a 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers NBA championship ring.

Noteworthy items also on offer include game-worn and signed shoes by the late Kobe Bryant, a Mickey Mantle AL MVP trophy from 1957, a bat used by Ted Williams, a 2023 Bowman Chrome Draft autographed Tom Brady Orange Refractor card, a 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson rookie card, a baseball signed by early Hall of Fame inductees and legends of the New York Yankees, and captivating sports memorabilia from the early 20th century.

With a wide selection of over 400 lots, the auction kicks off on Wednesday, running through Saturday, April 13. Bidders can participate in the auction through SCPAuctions.com, eagerly anticipating the chance to secure these remarkable pieces of sports history.
